Artist statement: I utilize only available light in my photos to capture details, colors, and patterns in ordinary things. The inspiration for my photographs comes from practicing mindfulness in everyday life. I hope my work encourages all of us to slow down, be present, and notice the quiet details that might otherwise be missed in the hustle of our busy lives.

Poof
Cathleen Warren
$100.00
Artist statement: One of my bucket list items was to go to Iceland. I went this year and it met every expectation. We went through the Katla Geopark on the way to visit the Katla Ice Caves. In this photo, the cloud was just perfect over the mountain to look like a poof of smoke over a volcano. I shot this right from the ground as I felt the volcanic ash was also an important part of the photo. I do not think I will ever make it to outer space, but this is how I imagine it would look.
Light over the Cliffs
Cathleen Warren
$100.00
Artist statement: My goal this summer was to visit and photograph 25 lighthouses. Most of the photos this year were taken on a road trip I took through the Canadian Maritimes. Finding these lighthouses required a map, I wandered down many dirt roads like the one I found at this lighthouse. I was really glad that I had this goal as it brought me to some of the most beautiful places. This one took my breathe away.
Volcanic Islands
Cathleen Warren
$100.00
Artist statement: Iceland is known for its volcanic activity. The Westman Islands continually have new islands being formed and allow scientists to see how a new ecosystem is formed. The story of the eruption of Heimaey is one of teamwork and endurance. The island inhabitants and neighboring Navys used seawater to keep back the lava from blocking the harbor. It was fascinating to hear of its history and explore the beauty of the island.
