Great Horned Owl #1
James Savickas
$300.00

Artist statement: I've spent countless hours hiking around the dam property over the years. I've had the pleasure of knowing and observing these owls, including rescuing a wayward owlet fallen out of their nest the year before this shot was taken. To watch this bird fly to perch in the golden light felt something like karma, or maybe I was holding my breath too long. Hodges Village Dam Oxford, MA.

To see a family hunting in this river that crosses the interstate, a state highway, a railway, and several residential streets was a pleasant surprise. Oxford, MA

$300.00

Artist statement: After moving from the city to the greenbelt, I was enchanted by the antics of the hawks that would pass through the swampy area in my backyard. My bathroom window afforded the perfect blind, and the downward angle brings in the beautiful golden grasses lit by the sun.

$300.00

Artist statement: There's two schools thought in wildlife photography. You can go to a beautiful place, and hope the subject shows up, or you can go looking for subjects and hope you are lucky enough to get them in a good spot. This is surely the latter, as I found this bird perched as I drove down the refuge road. Parker River NWR
