Green Heron: On The Hunt
Mark Phillips

Artist statement: In May 2024, with the Farmington River swollen above capacity, I ventured down an offshoot of the river in Curtiss Park that led me to a pond hidden way back in the woods. When this bird landed near my kayak and started hunting, I didn’t have any idea what it was. The incredible rapier beak with striking blue and yellow highlights, a sleek body with deep purple and fields of blue with white borders on a living creature that I knew I had never seen before. Specific medium: Aluminum Photographic Print
The Goslings
Mark Phillips
$250.00
Artist statement: The Goslings swam in single file trailing their mother’s large form. Where the mother was big, brownish, and black and white, the Goslings were cute, like Ryan Gosling in his first appearance on Graham Norton Show. Yes I had to make the jump from Canadian Geese to Canadian movie star. I followed them for a while on the Farmington River, but they were not very social, kinda down right rude. Helicopter parents has a whole new meaning when dealing with Goslings. Specific medium: Aluminum Photographic Print
