Lone Tree at Tufts Veterinary
Eric Alper
$300.00
Artist statement: It's always a challenge when creating a photograph to simplify the image. Such simple images of solitary trees have always appealed to me.
One of my photography instructors recently taught me to get familiar with places and scenes that are right around you, and look for when the light is right. I'm so pleased that this scene that no doubt will be so familiar to the people who join the festival may be featured and hopefully evoke a greater appreciation for what is around them every day. Specific medium: photographic print on metal
Sunset wave on secret beach
Eric Alper
$300.00
Artist statement: As I have thoroughly explored Acadia National Park, when I asked my photographer teacher JK Putnam to bring me to someplace off the beaten path, he brought me to this secret spot. At the right time with the tides, the waves glide over this rock in a lovely way, leading to this pleasing and relatively unusual composition. It was also nice to get this as fog rolled in, as sunset was approaching. A real hidden gem for the nature photographer. Specific medium: Print on metal
Picking tulips at Ferjulians
Eric Alper
$275.00
Artist statement: Having lived in Central Mass for 30 years, I was surprised to learn of a "pick your own" tulip garden nearby. This past spring, when I visited Ferjulians Farm, in Hudson, I took dozens of photos. This wide angle shot of the field, the farmhouse and the adorable little girl picking tulips connected with me the most. This image transports me back to a simpler time, speaks of the innocence of childhood, and how all can appreciate the beauty of flowers and excitement for the arrival of spring. Specific medium: Print on metal
Merganser mom and babes
Eric Alper
$275.00
Artist statement: On my last trip to Acadia NP, I found this family of Mergansers on Jordan Pond. While I was lucky to find them a few times (once with baby on her back and once with all for ducklings in tow), I liked this shot best. Having the mama merganser and her ducklings resting on the rock, all lined up in profile, with the serene blurred pond in the background and the sharp granite perch in the foreground led to a very pleasing composition, in addition to a little bit of cuteness overload. Specific medium: Print on metal
Through the fog
Eric Alper
$300.00
Selected for Exhibition Artist statement: On my last trip to Acadia, I went to photograph sunset from Cadillac Mountain. it was a magical early evening, as we experienced a cloud "inversion" - the clouds were hovering right on the surface. Over the ocean, the fog formed these lovely bands. Right on cue, the Margared Todd schooner sailed through Frenchman's Bay. I captured this just after the setting sun's warm rays hit the rust colored sails. For me, this photo is a great metaphor for persevering while sailing through a storm.

Autumn Berry Bushes
Maryann Amodeo
$500.00

Among the Birches
Maryann Amodeo
$700.00
Artist statement: In working on this composition, I tried to paint more freely than I have at times in the past. I allowed some shapes to remain ambiguous so that viewers could see whatever they wished. A goal was to create a sense of motion and activity. Specific medium: acrylic on canvas
Lively Day
Maryann Amodeo
$500.00
Artist statement: My purpose here was the balance of color. I especially like the pairing of turquoise and yellow, along with red, with hints of chartreuse peeking through. The bars provide reference for the movement of color. Specific medium: acrylic on canvas
Reflections
Maryann Amodeo
$1,000.00
Artist statement: I’ve been intrigued by reflections and the various forms they take depending on their surroundings. It takes patience to represent them accurately. Doing this was challenging because I had painted the trees from my imagination. Deciding where to place the reflections and how much to detail them was a dilemma, until I let my imagination take over again. Specific medium: acrylic on canvas
Dance with Me
Maryann Amodeo
$400.00
Artist statement: I like working with geometric shapes. In this painting, I used more varied colors than I’ve used in the past which required more focus on creating balance. Each time I changed a shape or color, I had to move or change several others so the painting would remain stable. It felt like trying to complete a jigsaw puzzle when the pieces keep moving around.
$400
Specific medium: acrylic on canvas

Ghost in the Shell
John Andonian
$499.99
Artist statement: Sometimes the perfect shot is at your feet. Right at the very moment that the sun was rising above the waves, I happened to notice the ethereal glow on a great seashell as the sun's first light hit it. Mixing with the ocean surf.
