Artist statement: The reference photo for this piece was taken on a cold morning hike in Rockport, MA. I liked the expression and the way the light rested on my daughter’s face, but completely changed the background to fit my vision of a sky, water and distant birds.

Artist statement: The playful charm of the chicken in a basket combined with eggs inspired me to create this piece. I love nesting chickens with their quirky, vintage charm. They remind me of my husband’s grandma, Joyce, who collected them and her warm sense of humor.

Artist statement: An iconic gluggle jug of a codfish is combined with Forsythia and a curious bee in this piece. There is also a bit of whimsy with a sandy shore and wave creeping in.

Artist statement: The turquoise and silver of the antique tea pot combined with the pussy willow stems and bright red cherries drew me to create this piece. This is one of those rare pieces where everything went smoothly from start to finish and was a pleasure to paint.

Artist statement: This piece was drawn as a challenge to create a piece of Art inspired by literature. The novel Watership Down, a tale of rabbits in search of a new home, was a childhood favorite of mine. The following quote was the inspiration for this piece. “We do not take moonlight for granted. It is like snow, or like dew on a July morning. It does not reveal but changes what it covers.” Richard Adams

Artist statement: Another happenstance photo: right place, right time. We had just gotten to the beach and I looked west to see the dark clouds behind the life gaurd station. At least this time I had the luxury of time to set up and get the shot.

Artist statement: In this portrait, I wanted to express the age, wisdom, and beauty of the subject along with a sense of peacefulness. I love the light and shadows of this piece, with the light shining on the woman's forehead, nose and cheek while the left side of her face and collar are in deep shadow.
