Artist statement: Painting has always been a personnel time for reflection as well as a means of expression. I love to paint landscapes especially, because of my love for the New England countryside. Drawing was my favorite pasttime as a child, but I became fascinated with color in my teen years. I’ve worked in most mediums and enjoy how each effect the look of a painting. Oil, acrylics, watercolor, and gouache are used depending upon my mood. I also love doing collaging in mixed media, the act of abstract design
Specific medium: Acrylic on canvas

Artist statement: Painting gives me a way to express my love of the outdoors. I try to paint plein air when I can, but painting in my studio also gives me a certain peace. My mediums lately are watercolors or gouache. I often will do a quick abstract painting in mixed media, just warm up. I enjoy trying to set a mood with color at times, but bask in the glory of landscapes.
