Artist statement: The reference for this painting was taken from the arts and crafts tent of the Woodstock Fair. It seemed such a fitting greeting as we walked into the barn. I loved the natural feel to it the arrangement. Sunflowers are the hardest flower for me to paint, but I so loved the image I had to try my hand at it. I enjoyed the process and have gotten positive feedback from it in the form of entry into juried shows and an award.

Artist statement: I took this photo in the rain while visiting New England Botanic Garden, it is always a treat when an American Bull Frog surfaces. In this photo I was focusing on capturing the raindrops on the water and lily pads.
