Artist statement: I visited this fallen tree many times knowing that one day I would find a bird who would add to the beauty of it. This Great Blue Heron relaxed his wing to soak up the first rays of the setting sun shining through the forest. The stillness of the air allowed for the wonderful line of reflective angles on the water’s surface. In seconds the scene disappeared along with the sun’s rays never to be repeated!
