Artist statement: This photo was captured with a Canon Rebel T3i Digital Camera. As I was driving through South Yarmouth, Massachusetts, this well-worn Chevrolet Apache pickup truck caught my eye. This truck parked in front of an older house presented a throwback feeling. Maybe back to The Cape of the 1950s or 1960s. If the truck and house could talk?...oh, the stories they could tell.
Homecoming Celebration

Artist statement: Every August, Beverly Massachusetts holds their Homecoming Celebration. People who grow up in Beverly value their hometown connection and enjoy coming "home" to catch up with family and friends, traveling from within the U.S, as well as from other countries. There's a great sense of hometown pride that can't be beat. The week-long festivities conclude with a fireworks display over Beverly Harbor. The chance for everyone to get together for a wonderful summer evening at the ocean.

Artist statement: This photo was captured with a Canon Rebel T3i Digital Camera. The Cape Porpoise Fish House is located in the quiet part of Kennebunkport, Maine, away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown shops. At low tide, you will be able to appreciate the entire structure (including the stilts that it sits on). Although its history is not 100% known, the setting will allow your imagination to run wild with thoughts of what may have gone on years ago.
Skiing Solitude
Skiing Solitude
Carolyn E Jank

Artist statement: This photo was taken with a Canon Rebel T3i Digital Camera. It was late in the ski season at Killington, Vermont. This skier was the only person in this area at the time. Although you can see the many ski marks from those who skied before, he had this part of the mountain all to himself that afternoon. The powder trail he was able to create reflects the good conditions for so late in the season.

Young Farwell

Artist statement: As an artist I like to challenge myself to improve my skills. And so, I painted my husband’s portrait. I love Rembrandt’s technique of Chiaroscuro, light and shadow, which I incorporated into my painting. By creating a dark background and shadow shapes, I call attention to the lighter areas.

Artist statement: Inspired by the expression of a middle-aged man returning home late afternoon after a hard day’s work, I painted On the Way Home. I felt in my heart the hardships of his life. My goal was to capture my feeling and his deep expression on my canvas.

Artist statement: This image was taken on a rainy day during our summer vacation. The kids spent the afternoon playing on the porch, and this hammock traded in its offer of leisure to become a surfboard. This child's imagination is incredible and always leads to something interesting and fun to photograph.

Artist statement: Cyanotypes propel me into a unique artistic process. It is a return to the basics of photography, nature, and art—a refreshing place to be in our digitally-focused world. The slow and steady process of mixing the solution, hand-coating the paper, laying out the botanicals, and waiting as the composition absorbs the sun is a welcome pace. My inspiration comes from my garden. I study the plants and contemplate how each one’s silhouette and its shadows will convey as a cyanotype.

Artist statement: "There is a quality of life in Maine which is this singular and unique. I think. It's absolutely a world onto itself." - Jamie Wyeth This quote came to mind the day I was photographing this beach. I'd set out to photograph the Rosa Rugosa, but the way the beach was enshrouded in fog pulled me in. The pops of pink from the flowers, the brightness of the driftwood that had washed ashore, and the mist softening the distant view made for a beautiful world onto itself.
